Out of Love
comes courage;
a growing shoot of future might,
rising up, a shining phoenix
out of the golden fires of purest devotion.
Mind, with its conditions, opinions,
durst not:
knowing only fear
and the panic to survive.
Love conceives and germinates;
spreading joy like kisses, petals, rainbows, laughter;
birthing peace-warriors of the spirit,
staunch but gentle knowers
of when to speak or keep silent
when to stand up and out
or be still.
The wisdom that Time and Listening

hold the keys
to full presence of manifest courage:
