Mindsets
Landscapes and backgrounds
are the spatial
Context and Ground we inhabit,
consider and orient to or by
regardless of whether we treasure,
take for granted or ignore them.
That which autonomously shapes the way
that decisions are made and goals set.
Mountain-ranges of the Mind are built, inch by inch,
by the collective archetypes;
designed to evolve, rise and fall like tectonic plates
bearing the land masses and
continental shelves like ships
on their molten core.
Every little thought, choice, impulse
grows from this subconscious base,
the genetic roots and physiological inheritance;
the weight of each cell, unit, individual
thrusting out of the bedrock of our conglomerate Past.
The ever replicating emergence and recycling of material -
whether of the psyche or biosphere.
We envisage we are somehow
separate, detached!
Indeed, unique in each expression,
yet we intrinsically, intimately belong
species and substance-wise;
also, in every conscious way
via instincts, senses, feelings, mind - factual, inspired and creative;
building blocks of the eternal Now out of and on which
we construct the choreography
of our tiny lives.
The impact of the love, lust
or violence of conception,
reverberates from the womb,
growing on the amniotic diet of dna
and ancestral prevalence;
what mother felt or did
- and in due course, said.
The air we first breathed,
it’s climate, longitude, altitude, attitude even,
it’s temper and condition
and the lay of the land itself;
that which nourished en-spirited body and soul - or deprived it.
Our immersive reality, relative
and directional
for weal or woe.
