Utter Awe

In-bodymind, every instant.
Soon as consciousness apprehends
something external that rings true,
it stirs the senses: stalls the breath,
so eyes widen, heart pounds,
toes and fingers actually curl,
 throat, brow and belly constricts..
Who said its purely a matter
for mystics, pantheists, the arts et al
when our inner scientist, gardener, lover, diviner, designer and carer
sees existential structural beauty
everywhere, inside as much as out.

The mouthy mortal is silenced,
gob-smacked, shriven with awe.
